Evil Genius 2 gets a cinematic trailer, fresh post-launch plans, and more

Lots to update this week, as goes Rebellion’s base/empire-building Evil Genius 2 on the PC. That includes a snazzy new cinematic trailer.

Eeeevil

It’s been a while since the “Evil Genius” name has seen a video game release. The original title in the now-series launched in 2004 after all, so even if you are familiar with that precursor, this new title looks radically different.

And as you can see from this trailer, evil apparently has its some pretty nice perks.

Whether you’re new to the series or a returning tyrant, the Cinematic Trailer is a fantastic glimpse into the nefarious world of Evil Genius 2. It goes into every aspect of the game’s management-strategy gameplay – think of it as a World Domination 101 – from lair-building to training your minions, and from recruiting crime lords to stealing priceless artefacts. It’s everything you’ll need to help you take over the world in just two weeks’ time.

More in store

On top of the new trailer, Rebellion has also announced that the game will have a photo mode. Given how good it’s looking, that’s a nice little addition, and should have evil photogs snapping away.

Aside from that though, we also have news about what gamers can expect post-launch. Yes, there will be DLC, and it’ll add in a decent amount of stuff.

A campaign pack will bring another Evil Genius to the game, along with his or her island lair, and Force of Justice. Whatever that might be. More is planned beyond that too, with additional packs bringing new henchmen and more.

Here’s what you can expect to see some time after the game hits in about two week time:

  • A campaign pack
  • Two henchmen packs
  • Two minions packs
  • A lair item pack

Evil Genius 2 launches on the PC on March 30th.
