New PvP modes and more coming to Rune II: Decapitation Edition

Not to be confused with the previous edition of Rune II that was left in the lurch, Studio 369 and Ragnarok Game’s revamp just keep on rolling.

Friendly fire

You might not have been following along with the drama that Rune II has gone through. It’s honestly been a heck of a ride, with the relatively new game being abandoned and left to die on the vine.

Enter Studio 369 and Ragnarok Game though, and it’s been like night and day. The companies have picked up Rune II’s mantle, and evolved the open-world, viking-themes action RPG with aplomb. And they’re actually not done with it just yet.

Freshly announced is a piece of DLC called The Duplicity Update. There you’ll find a selection of new Player vs Player modes, as well as some maps to go along with them.

Featuring new PvP game modes, the new Goblin Mine dungeon, and the ability to dual-wield weapons, the ‘Duplicity Update’ will deliver bloody holiday fun for everyone! The new ‘Last Viking Standing’ and ‘Last Clan Standing’ PVP modes feature quick mini-battle royale sessions on two newly revised PVP maps – Redheim and Lost Thorstadt. Descend into the new Goblin Mines and slay annoying goblin runts while avoiding their incendiary weapons. Lastly, players can now dual wield weapons to become a tornado of blades and blood as you wade through hordes of enemies.

Rune II: Decapitation Edition is available now for the PC. The Duplicity Update is set to arrive some time next week.
