Activision briefly talked about Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time’s Flashback levels a while back, but now they’re back with details.
Crashing back in time
Revealed not all that long ago, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s about Time is looking like it might be the game that fans have waited quite a while for. If you haven’t seen, Crash 4 is a direct sequel to the classic trilogy-capper.
The game seems to have basically everything that you’d expect from a ‘new’ game in the series, plus quite a bit more. And that includes something called Flashback Levels.
Just revealed by Activision, the Flashback Levels will bring the action of Crash 4 back to the style of the 90s originals. And that looks to even include a lite sim of a CRT television.
More than that though, the Flashbacks actually are flashbacks. According to the publisher, they’ll let gamers see Crash and Coco’s origins for the first time.
The Flashback levels are designed to challenge players’ puzzle solving and technical performing abilities. They also give fans even more ways to play. Through the collection of Flashback Tapes, players discover Crash and Coco’s origin story and experience Bandicoot training in Neo Cortex’s Test Chambers – but the task won’t be easy.
