Technos Collection announced for Evercade

The upcoming portable console Evercade has yet another collected edition to its name with the Technōs Collection. And yes it’s got Double Dragon(s).

Triple the Dragon

Evercade is a pretty interesting little console. It’s a handheld with a 4.3″ screen, and bases its library on the classics. With this announcement, there are over 120 games on the schedule already for it. A good chunk of those are true icons too, like Pac-Man, Earthworm Jim, and Burger Time.

The Technōs Collection vol.1 here is even more example of that. Loaded with a set of games that should be very familiar to anyone who’s been playing from the classic eras.

On the cartridge, you’ll get:

  • Double Dragon
  • Double Dragon II: The Revenge™
  • Crash ‘N’ The Boys: Street Challenge
  • River City Ransom
  • Super Dodge Ball™
  • Super Spike V’ball™
  • Super Double Dragon™
  • Renegade™

Not too shabby. The “collection” format looks to be the theme of the Evercade, with carts from Bandai Namco and Interplay coming up (to name a few) as well. They’re pretty well priced too, at $19.99 USD each.

Eve with all this classic flair though, the unit won’t be completely retro. Evercade says that all the games on the console will be presented in HD thanks to upscaling, and it will have HDMI output to TV. So much like the Switch, you can play at home or on the go.

The Evercade is available for pre-order now (right here), and will launch on March 20th, 2020. The base unit will run you $79.99 USD.
