Check out Marvel’s new Dawn of X trailer

There’s a new dawn coming, not just for the X-Men, but for all of Marvel Comics “mutant” books. Check out the new trailer for what’s on the way.

Dawn of X

From the ashes of House of X and Powers of X, comes Dawn of X. If you don’t know what that is, it’s pretty simple. Marvel is bringing the X-Men back to prominence in the Marvel Comics U in a very big way this fall.

The result of the new initiative will be an ambitious slate of 6 new series’, almost all of them playing off of classic X-Men lines.

Spearheaded by Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Francis Yu with X-Men #1, the first wave of Dawn of X titles will also include new stories and new line-ups for X-Force, the New Mutants, the Marauders, the Fallen Angels, and Excalibur. How does the world view Homo Superior in the wake of recent events? And will the X-Men still fight to protect even those that hate and fear them? Find out as we usher in a new epoch of X-Men storytelling!

Marvel Comics press release

If you’re a fan, it’s kind of thought to not be excited about this. Though there might be some call for temperance to that enthusiasm. Though writer Jonathan Hickman is in the midst of some acclaimed stuff in revamping the X-Men, it’s been a tough road to get here.

He won’t be helming all of these new books either, as that’d be impossible. But with different creative teams coming in, will they all sport the same quality? That’s doubtful. Six books is also perhaps a little too ambitious for a first run here in the new X-Men era.

We’ll find out some answers when all of these start hitting retail next month.
