Tetris Effect heads to PC as Epic exclusive

The PS4’s Tetris Effect is now available on the PC, but as an Epic Games Store exclusive. And it’s VR capable, as long as you have a Vive or Oculus.

The effect continues

Tetris Effect made waves when it was released last year on the PS4. It was probably the biggest release the series has had outside of the NES original. Effect was a near complete revamp of the standard Tetris look. But then it went the extra yard as well, bringing it into the virtual reality realm.

The PC version of the game, now available, is more or less a port of that PS4 original. It even includes virtual reality compatibility, thanks to the Vive and Oculus Rift. Publisher Enhance says that this is the “ultimate” version.

All together, it includes:

  • VR Optional: Playable on your PC desktop, or in full VR with your Oculus Rift or HTC VIVE headset and accompanying controllers (standard gamepads, Vive Controllers, and Oculus Remote and Touch controllers are all supported).
  • All-new “Zone” mechanic: Players can stop time (and Tetriminos falling) by entering “the Zone” and either get out of a sticky situation that could otherwise lead to “Game Over,” or rack up extra Line Clears for bonus scoring rewards.
  • Over 30 different stages: Each with its own music, sound effects, graphical style and background that all evolve and change as you play through them.
  • Enhanced PC visuals & more: Unlocked resolution and an uncapped framerate if Vsync is disabled, increased texture and particle effect options, support for super high-resolution and ultrawide monitors, and more.

Running $39.99 USD, the PC edition of Tetris Effect is available right now, exclusively on the Epic Games Store.
