Old school action title Blazing Chrome dated

The return of the side-scrolling blastathon is almost here. Deep Silver and The Arcade Crew’s Blazing Chrome finally has a release date.

Fire it up

If you remember Contra fondly, if you love the action present in the Metal Slug series, then you might really be interested in what Blazing Chrome has to offer. Because while those previously named classics have taken a little break, this one’s all action, all the time.

Today’s announcement as to Blazing Chrome is two-fold. Yes, there’s the release date, but there’s also a trailer that shows off the unlockable characters. They’re a pair of troopers that almost completely change the game’s style, brandishing katana instead of machine guns.

Fans who unlock the new characters within the game will be treated to fast-paced, side-scrolling and vertical gameplay action as ‘Suhaila,’ a razor girl with a robotic arm or the skilled and deadly ninja ‘Raijin’ you try to out-fire, out-maneuver and out-wit your various metal-encased AI enemies.

The new characters are armed with entirely new ninja-based weaponry – players can harness a deadly katana, jump higher and use dash, creating a completely new combat experience in a Contra-like game.

Deep Silver press release

P{pretty slick. And as for that release date, fans will be playing Blazing Chrome before the summer even kicks into high gear. The game launches for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Switch on July 11th.
