Take a look at the latest trailer for Capcom’s latest undead remake, as Resident Evil 2 finally makes it’s way back to retail shelves… again.
Shambling
Take a gander at this:
If you’re a long time fan of the franchise, I don’t think there’s any way that you could not love that. This is arguably the best game in the series, redone from scratch with what seems to be an incredible amount of care.
Not only is this the original story, with all the extras included (like 4th Survivor, etc…), but there’s even some new stuff in the way of added/redone scenes. There isn’t much to dislike about that.
There are actually three versions of the game out as of today, including standard and ridiculously expensive variations.
For serious fans, the Resident Evil 2 Collector’s Edition includes the full game, reversible box art, a code to download the Extra DLC pack content, an expertly-crafted 12-inch Leon S. Kennedy figure, “Ben’s File” art book, digital soundtrack and a R.P.D. renovation design poster.
Capcom press release
More to come…
While there looks to be plenty to do here already, Capcom is actually planning on expanding the world of RE2 a big more. That’ll come in the way of post launch downloadable content. This new DLC will be called The Ghost Survivors and tell some fresh tales in the RE2 time period.
A total of three adventures will ask “what if…” about a few in-game characters, and what might have happened if they survived the base game. The include events told from the perspective of a U.S.S. agent, the daughter of the mayor, and a gun shop owner.
No word on a release date for that, so stay tuned.
