The DC booth is going to look a little different at SDCC 2019. The comics book giant will be joining up with parent company Warner Bros to make one booth to rule them all.
Super
I’m used to seeing DC’s booth be standalone at Comic Con. It’s actually one of the better publisher booths too, since DC usually stocks it with movie costumes, collectibles, and of course signing tables.
The Warner Bros booth on the other hand… well I honestly can’t remember much about it from this past show. Maybe that’s the reason for this change though. Since Warners does so much DC stuff anyway, why not just combine the two into one big super-booth? Makes sense. Of course, it also makes sense financially, as these big shows aren’t exactly cheap to display at. But the changes don’t stop there.
Another big alteration is the placement of said super-booth. DC says they’ll be in the “entertainment” section of the hall next year. That’s a big shift, as the company is typically in the middle of all the other comic book publishing houses like Marvel and Image. Now they’ll be in with the TV and movie stuff, closer to the likes of Weta and FOX, and right next to Artist’s Alley.
Lots more to come as to this announcement, and Comic Con in general really, as the show celebrates 50 years in 2019.
