It’s been a while since Crackdown 3 was announced. And though it seemed as though it’d never come out, Microsoft had a nice surprise yesterday.
Cracking down on a release date
Microsoft’s Xbox lineup at Saturday’s XO18 did not have all that many “new” announcements. But be that as it may, it did have one big piece of news – the Crackdown 3 release date. Finally, at long last, Crackdown 3 is coming.
And actor Terry Crews is very excited. Very. Excited.
I have a feeling that there are maybe just a few gamers out there who might feel something like Mr. Crews. It’s kind of hard not to if you are a fan of Crackdown though.
After being tagged as something of a throwaway, and as a vehicle for a Halo 2 demo years ago, the series managed to accrue a legion of followers. There’s a very good reason for that of course, since both the original and sequel were miles better than anyone thought they’d be.
So far, Crackdown 3 is looking like it might be right in line with those first two installments. The game is ready for pre-order right now, and is set to arrive, exclusively for the Xbox One, on February 15th.
If you just can’t wait for that magical date, then you might want to try replaying the original. That’s something that you can do right now, without charge. Microsoft has posted that first game, in backwards compatible form on Xbox Live, for free.
