Yoshimitsu tears up Soul Calibur VI in new trailer

Bandai Namco’s next Soul Calibur title has slowly been revealing its roster, and the latest trailer highlights a familiar face. Well, a familiar mask at any rate. Say hello once again to Yoshimitsu.

Like a ninja

Around since the first days of Soul Calibur, Yoshimitsu is a master of the ninjutsu arts. He’s fast, with lots of quick moves and some devastating specials, as you can see in the trailer above. Also as you can see above, he certainly has a flair for the dramatic.

Yoshimitsu is one of the staple characters of Soul Calibur. So it’s probably a safe bet that there are more than a few fans who’ll be very happy he’s back in action. And he’s actually looking pretty awesome too. The ninja’s costumes and masks have changed quite drastically since the fighting game series began, but they’re always over the top. This time around, he’s got some impressive lighting effects surrounding him in addition to some slick armor. This might be the coolest incarnation of him yet, and that’s actually saying a lot.

Soul Calibur VI is still dateless however, with not even a launch window announced. According to Bandai Namco though, you will definitely be seeing it hit the Xbox One, PS4, and PC some time this year.
