Sega blasts second Sonic Adventures cartoon short onto YouTube

Missing Sonic the Hedgehog cartoons on your TV? Then you’re probably going to like this. Sonic speeds into adventure with Tails in this second animated short from Sega.

Sonic returns

So what’s this all about? Actually these are kind of interesting, and the story that the have to tell is told in the classic Sonic mold. That’s just neat. Coming kind of out of nowhere, this series of five animated shorts from Sega fills in the story of Sonic’s return to Angel Island after the events of Sonic Mania and Forces. Yes, apparently Sega is getting pretty serious with its Sonic timeline.

Directed by Tyson Hesse, who did the opening to Sonic Mania, these episodes will presumably tie into something yet to be announced. Not that there’s any word on that yet, I’m just guessing. They’re pretty slick though, with great animation and sound effects right from the classic Genesis games, which you can see in these videos on Youtube, and you can also use software like youtube unblocked to have more freedom in this platform.

Parts one and two are available to watch right now (you’ll fine them below) with part three coming up some time soon. Sega also reminds, in the press release, that Sonic Mania Plus is coming up fast. The relaunch of last year’s excellent platform title will be getting the full retail treatment, including an art book. You’ll also get a pair of new characters to play as, and some additional in-game content. Click here for more on that.

If you’re just here for the videos though, here’s part one:

And part two:

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
