Remember that super-limited (and expensive) Joker bust we told you about, then showed you at Toy Fair? Well, DC has just announced a variant piece. It’s even more limited (and yes, even more expensive).
Ultimate
There’s little doubt, after seeing this bust in person, that it’s a remarkable piece. It might not look it on paper (or on a screen), but this thing is all-together awesome and terrifying. Rick Baker has been producing big screen monsters for years, and he knows his stuff. And man, does it ever show.
I was knocked over by how amazing this bust looks in person. Yes, it’s expensive, but if you’re a monster Bat-fan (or Joker fan), then it’s worth a serious look.
And now there are two of them.
DC Collectibles has just announced an even more limited version of the bust, done in the original vision that Baker had for it. Apparently the artist wanted to go with a black shirt, before it was switched to the flashier orange. Also really cool is that this variant comes right from the molds that Baker himself created. Pretty cool, that.
All of that means the issue size has dropped significantly. Only 50 of this new variant edition are being made. That’s way less than the already low 200 piece edition size that was announced for the standard (orange shirt) version.
So what does this new 50 piece, black-shirted version run? That’d be a hefty $1500 USD. Told you it wasn’t cheap.
