Doctor Malcolm makes a Jurassic return for Jurassic World: Evolution

Need another reason to pick up the park-building title Jurassic World: Evolution? If you like Jeff Goldblum, you just got one. It looks like the actor will be starring in the game, returning as his series character Doctor Ian Malcolm.

Welcome… to Jurassic World

It’s always nice to see a link to the classic Jurassic Park series return for a Jurassic World tie-in. I know, they’re the same universe and all, but World is sort of a fresh series. Sure it plays off Park, which set it up, but there are all new characters and situations. Well, pretty much new situations anyway. Kind of. A little bit.

This summer will see the return of the films to theaters, with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. And with that movie, actor Jeff Goldblum will also be making a series comeback with his Dr. Ian Malcolm. He’s just in it in cameo form (I think), but he’s there. And now he’s also here, in the new Jurassic World game.

Aside from Goldblum, Jurassic World: Evolution seems like it’ll be getting fairly deep into the world’s fiction. You’ll have to create your own park, and also work your way through some moral decisions, as you “bioengineer new dinosaur breeds and construct attractions, containment and research facilities”.

All in all, it seems like a fantastic adaptation of the films to a game. At any rate, it definitely looks like a much better one than the old side-scrollers from the 16bit era. Except for the SNES one. That was great.

Watch for it to hit the PC, PS4, and Xbox One this June.
