Jean Grey is on the way back to the Marvel U in Phoenix Resurrection. Check out the tease Marvel released last week to see where she’s been, and what the future holds.
Resurrection
Okay so, X-Men Red team aside, this seems like it’s going to be pretty cool.
I am a Jean Grey fan. And I’m not wild about the makeup of Red team. So that’s full disclosure right there. But even for me, there’s no denying that it’s going to be awesome to see her back in action. And no, the younger, time-travellin’ Jean wasn’t doing it for me.
Resurrection will be answering a whole mess of questions too, which I’m sure you could’ve guessed. There are plenty f them after all, including just how it is that she was brought back to the land of the living.
“Our series examines how she comes back, why she comes back, and what that means on a bigger sense for the X-Men and the world as a whole,” said series writer Matt Rosenberg.
“One of the things that really excites me as an editor about the return of a character like this is where we’re going to go with her,” added senior editor Mark Paniccia. “And her mission now, as simple as it sounds, is to save the world.”
Phoenix Resurrection is set to play out in five parts, with al all-star array of talent. Leinil Yu, Carlos Pacheco, Joe Bennett, and Ramon Rosins will all be leading their pencils to the work. It kicks off just after Christmas, on December 27th.
