Spidey, Iron Man, Vulture, and even a lil’ bit of Shocker, this Spider-Man Homecoming trailer is loaded.
Does whatever…
Okay, so that was pretty slick. And it certainly looks like Spider-Man’s first film as a member of the MCU is going to be a good one. Michael Keaton is looking all kinds of awesome as Vulture too. Is it too early to say that this is the best version of the villain… ever? I don’t think so.
However, there are a few things in there that I’m not crazy about as a long-time Spidey fan. And unfortunately, these aren’t things that are going to change, since this new version of the wall-crawler is likely going to be around for a good long time.
Pete as a high school kid? Don’t care for it. Looking up to Tony Stark? Not crazy about it. Having his costume be a Stark creation? Nope, didn’t dig that in Civil War and I still don’t. I’ve always preferred Spider-Man as a solo character, not tied down to a group like the Avengers. And I really doubt that a Tony Stark cameo was needed in this flick to make it salable. Spider-Man in the MCU would have done that all by itself.
In any event though, those are all relatively picky things. This movie is going to be big, and I couldn’t be happier to see a Spider-Man swinging around the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Catch Homecoming when it lands in theaters on July the 7th.
