Have you grown tired of simulator games? Had your fill of all the hyper realistic games that create the most accurate experience of that thing? Well my friends, here I share with you the most realistic simulator yet. Forget Train Simulator, Goat Simulator and I Am Bread. All you need is right here in Soda Drinker Pro. Never have I felt so like I was drinking a soda while not actually drinking a soda. Of course this is all just a front for the real game here. Vivian Clarke.
Not to say that walking around for 8 levels holding both triggers, drinking soda wasn’t fun but…it wasn’t. I have no idea how many more levels there are. To be perfectly honest I only got to level 8 because I was looking for any other hidden secrets but in my search all I found was Vivian Clarke. Which is where the real magic is. Well, not quite magic. More like an acid trip.
What is Soda Drinker Pro
Soda Drinker Pro is A soda drinking simulation game with hand drawn graphics (at least I should hope so) and the kind of music and voice overs that you’ll hear in your sleep and probably keep you up at night. It’s an FPS, TPS, platformer, puzzle? game. I’m not entirely certain what the aim of the game is here. I didn’t really play it long enough to find out as I didn’t want to catch any secondary whatever they were on while making this.
My Experience
Before going any further I feel I should explain that I am still lost for words about this game so there may be parts that don’t make sense. That’s because my brain is still confused. Also this may be very short as I am literally lost for words when it comes to talking about this game. There just aren’t the right words to describe it.
I went into this game completely blind. Hadn’t heard of it before, didn’t look it up. Just received the code and played away. So when I saw “Soda Drinker” I was a little confused but still curious. So without watching trailers or looking at screenshots I jumped right in. Straight away I was lost as the options weren’t your regular settings. No no no. The bars were for the ingredients of soda. So you could adjust that. I wasn’t really sure what that would do so I just left it all how it was in fear of making this any weirder.
So I went on to play. There I stand in a child’s drawing made 3D. Weird music and voice overs seemed to surround me as I plodded about collecting sodas. Which did nothing so I’m not sure what they’re purpose is. Anyway, after collecting all the sodas and drinking all of mine I went on to the next level. Turns out out complete a level all you have to do is drink all your soda.
Level 2. The Truth
I don’t remember the names of the levels or what the themes were, and it’s hard to recall as everything was…awful. But anyway. Again, I walked around and collected soda while drinking soda but before completing the punishing task of holding both triggers my curiosity took over. Something told me to try and walk through the lines and scribbles that slightly resembled a door. As luck would have it you can walk right through. And here is where the real game is. Sure you can spend however long walking around and drinking but I would strongly advise against it.
So, Vivian Clark. That’s what comes up when you go through the door. This basically starts up a whole new game. New save slots and everything. I don’t remember how this one started, only that I was falling collecting cube things and on the way down I hit a spaceship. Then to my surprise the game flows into another where I am now taking control of that spaceship and playing an Asteroids like game. Then I hit a butterfly and it teleported me into the butterfly and I was playing something else. It was at this point I stopped taking notes as each time I touched something the game would change.
More Than It First Appeared
I have no idea how many different games I played in this. All were relatively similar just with different, terrifying drawings. This definitely wasn’t what I was expecting but there was more to it than first appeared. After playing it enough to notice a cycle there is an underlying meaning/story/thing here. It’s not revolutionary, insightful and certainly not life changing so I don’t know what those reviews were talking about.
If you’re on something or just feel like sitting and being confused, scared and saying “what the hell” a lot, then this is the game for you. I really don’t know what to say about this game in ways of ratings and recommendations. It’s a game within a game within a game within a game within a game and so on.
Curiosity does take over and leaves you playing the game for hours as you want to find and play all the games that are here. I probably spent more than I should have replaying it over and over and hitting different things in hopes of getting something different and find new things. This game is neither a work of art or the worst thing I’ve ever played, but it might be worth having a go at. It completely depends on taste. After all that I really don’t know what more to say.

Why?
Once in a while you come across a game that makes you go "How the hell did someone come up with this? Somebody actually sat there and made this". This is one of them games. I don't know what to make of it.
