Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme #1 (comics) Preview

Marvel’s designated head magic-wielder is going to get some help in the upcoming Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme.

Sorcerers, with an ‘s’

Because sometimes, just one Sorcerer Supreme won’t do! This October, Stephen Strange multiplies his mystic might by teaming with magicians from across time in DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE SORCERERS SUPREME #1 – the new ongoing series launching as part of Marvel NOW!. Fan-favorite creators Robbie Thompson (SilkVenom: Space Knight) and Javier Rodriguez (Spider-WomanDaredevil) team together to make Marvel magic across the past, present and future!

Yes, this time around, there’s more than one big time sorcerer in the pages of a Doc Strange book. The character will be joined by some characters that you probably know. Though there are some that I feel pretty comfortable saying you don’t in there too.

A cast of magic-wielders

Granted, I haven’t been the biggest Strange fan over the years. So some characters probably flew under my radar. But even so, I can’t remember a time when Merlin was all that big of a character. In fact, I can’t remember Arthur’s magical pal ever figuring into the Marvel U in any meaningful way. That might be me though.

As for the story that the Sorcerers will be set to task with, well it’s a classic. Lots of magic, and ripping of the fabric of reality, don’t you know. And they just can’t have that.

When an ancient evil threatens to unravel the fabric of reality, Doctor Strange must unite Sorcerers Supreme from across time to stem the coming darkness. Merlin, the Ancient One, Wiccan and more must unite to stand against The Forgotten. But even a team of the greatest sorcerers history has ever known may not be enough! Not to mention Strange should watch his back, not all these Sorcerers have his best interests in mind. Be there as the magical adventure across space and time begins on October 26th in DOCTOR STRANGE AND THE SORCERERS SUPREME #1!
