Genre vet Richard Corben is about to bring a new era of horror to Dark Horse Comics with Shadows on the Grave.
Things that go bump
You probably know the Corben name if you’re a horror fan. For Dark Horse specifically, he’s worked on books like Rat God, Ragemoor, Creepy, and Eerie. Then there’s his long-running Den series of stories that’ve been running in Heavy Metal magazine for years. Needless to say, the guy knows his way around a fright.
For Shadows on the Grave, it’s both familiar and new territory for the creepy-creator. The book is horror yes, but it’s also an anthology series with an eight issue run. So each issue will bring you something new and terrible… in a good way, I mean. And all of them will have that familiar Corben brand of scary. Always a good time.
The series will be published in black and white, which is the preferred method of storytelling for Corben. Each issue will be jam-packed with stories to, with four different tales. And yes, you can expect Den to be a part of the festivities, as Denaeus will appear. If you don’t know that specific variation of the character, it’s a “Greco-Roman-era version” of him.
This should be one not to miss from Richard Corben, so mark your calendar. Shadows on the Grave debuts this December the 14th.
