U2 makes their video game debut in Rock Band 4

Finally added to the Rock Band catalog, legendary rock band U2’s tunes are now playable.

This is a pretty monstrous feather in Rock Band 4’s cap, as U2 has yet to appear in any rhythm game from any generation. That dearth ends with Songs of Innocence’s (their latest album) “Cedarwood Road” and the classic track “I Will Follow” off of the band’s debut album Boy.

Though only two tracks from the band will be included to kick things off, developer Harmonix promises that there’s plenty more on the way for fans to play. New songs will be added to the in-game music store post-launch. So if you don’t really dig these two, there’s plenty more hitting down the line.

And speaking of more songs, Rock Band 4 supports hordes of the already existing songs from legacy titles of the series. Over 1500 songs in total are getting adapted, which should be more than enough to keep you busy for a long, long time- and that’s not even counting the new stuff.

Get those plastic guitars (and your drums… and your vocal chords) tuned up- Rock Band 4 hits consoles on October 6th.
