E3 2015: All-new Xbox One controller announced, features modular design

In a surprise announcement today, Microsoft has unveiled a nifty new redesigned Xbox One (and PC) controller.

Well, that’s pretty darn cool to be honest. This new controller has the air of something that you’d find coming from a third-party company, only (obviously) from Microsoft.

This isn’t the first time that MS has redesigned a controller, as they famously crunched the oddly shaped ‘duke’ that the original Xbox shipped with into what became the staple controller form for the line, and one of the best controllers for a console ever.

Here with the new Elite controller, were talking about something even deeper than a simple redesign though, as this pad is almost completely customizable, and offers new stuff like the back buttons and such. I’ve had gaming mice like that for the PC, and loved them, so I’m already on board for the Elite.

No release date or pricing for this one yet, but we’ll have that for you as soon as it’s available.
