Classic car-combat returns to rip it up in Carmageddon: Reincarnation

One of the flat-out bloodiest and most controversial driving games of all time is back and ready to tear into the apocalypse with Carmageddon: Reincarnation.

Was Carmageddon banned at one point, or am I thinking of something else? If not, it easily could have been. That game, which was a sort-of racing game, basically didn’t even really enforce any racing ‘rules’ of any kind. Not that there was no point to it, but you were free to basically carve into bystanders and onlookers and just generally cause as much havoc on the track as you wanted to. And now it’s back.

You can expect to see a career mode included as a single-player campaign, as well as a free-play mode, online and offline multiplayer modes, and a ‘mods mode’, where the entire game is modable. You can also expect to see lots of challenges, collectables, and achievements.

If you’ve been missing a little vehicular combat in your life, then your day has arrived. Carmageddon: Reincarnation is available right now on the PC via Steam.
