Halo: Spartan Strike set to assail Windows Phone and the PC

A year without a Halo release? Nay says Microsoft as Halo: Spartan Strike is almost ready to shoot ’em up on the PC and Windows Phone platforms.

Thought the Master Chief might not be around for this one, you’ll still be playing as a member of the UNSC’s Spartan program and laying waste to not only the remnants of the Covenant, but the biomechanical nightmares that are the Forerunners. The game is a twin-stick shooter and has a few bells and whistles that you’re probably not used to seeing from a game in the genre.

Unique is the fact that you’ll be playing on foot, but can also hop into a number of vehicles (Scorpion!) and also pick up heavier arms to wield against the baddies. So even though it’s a pretty straightforward title, there’s still plenty to do and plenty of ways to take it to the Covenant.

Look for Halo: Spartan Strike to arrive on Windows Phone, Windows, and Steam this December.
