Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare announced for PlayStation platforms

EA and PopCap’s unique take on the multiplayer first-person shooter genre is headed to the PS3 and PS4.

So some very cool stuff happening there for PS gamers looking forward to the chlorophyl-loaded action that Garden Warfare provides. Though the game will be more or less the same as it is on the Xbox One/360, the PlayStation versions will of course have that nice little PS Vita Remote Play bonus.

It’s a feature that’s not duplicable on any other platform out there and, while I’ve had some hit or miss experiences with it, it’s definitely a huge bump for gamers who happen to own a Vita and a PS4. If you dig portable gaming and have access to Wi-Fi from where you porto-game from, then this is probably the version to get.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is headed to the PS3 and PS4 on August 19th. The game is pre-orderable right now and, if you do, you’ll be on the getting end of some cool little bonuses. Pre-orderers will receive two packs of digital cards and a PS-exclusive customization pack that includes “Hat Packs from Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper and Fat Princess games.” And that Fat Princess hat will only be available to gamers who pre-order.

What is it with multiplayer team-based shooters and hats?
