Mario Kart 8 playable at Gamestop the weekend of May 17th

Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart 8 will be playable at more than 2,700 Gamestops in the United States from 12 to 4 pm local time.

The event is being called “Mario Kart 8 Test Drive” and it’s featuring a playable demo US citizens who go to their local Gamestop. If you’ve pre-ordered the game or are planning to pre-order it on that day, you can receive a neat double sided Mario Kart 8 poster. It seems Nintendo is doing whatever it can to get the word out as much as possible for the upcoming Mario Kart game for Wii U. It certainly seems to be working too, as Nintendo has sold out their pre-orders of MK8. If even that isn’t enough for you, then you’re in for a treat, Nintendo has decided to hold a launch event May 29th, from 8PM to 12AM.

Par for the course in any launch event, you’ll most likely be participating in a tournament, so start practicing on the off chance you’ll have to compete. Mario Kart 8 launches May 30th, 2014 and will available at retail or eshop.
