Help Tex Murphy solve a murder and win some prizes with GOG.com

DRM-free retailer GOG.com has some nifty prizes for you to celebrate the impending launch of Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure, and all you have to do is make a video with Tex Murphy to win.

If you were a fan of adventure games in the 1990’s, you have to be smiling right now. There’s just no way you aren’t since this whole contest revolves around you actually stepping into a cheesy FMV scene with none other than genre favorite Tex Murphy.

Basically, all you need to do is to download the source video content and build a nifty little video with it where you tip the gumshoe off to an important clue that’ll send him towards solving a murder mystery. Sound cool? It is. It gets even cooler too, since this isn’t just for a brief glimpse of internet fame. That’s right, big time prizes are waiting for the winners who have the most creative videos.

The prizes include three Tesla Effect Swag Bags (Shot Glass, T-Shirt, Soundtrack and Buttons) and heaps of codes for all the classic Tex Murphy games on GOG.com for the runner-ups!

You have until May 1, 11.00am GMT to enter, so you’ve still got plenty of time to put something suitably awesome together, if you start now. Click here for the full rules, details, and that video file. Just don’t wait too long or you’ll find yourself missing out on this contest like Tex missed out on the last 7 years of his life.

Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure launches for the PC on April 22nd.
