The Get Some story arc kicks off with the return of artist Bart Sears to Valiant Comics as more of Project Rising Spirit’s dark secrets come back to haunt them.
With a valuable oil pipeline in dire peril, Bloodshot and the expendable commandos of H.A.R.D. Corps are headed to Africa to bring down a network of terrorist saboteurs. But as Bloodshot digs into the multinational oil conglomerate he’s been brought in to protect, he’ll soon find himself confronted by the complex truth behind the terror – and face-to-face with an older, scrappier, more grizzled generation of superhuman soldier from the glory days of proxy wars and state-sponsored assassination.
A part of Must Read Valiant, Get Some is one of the new jumping on points for Valiant Comics universe for readers looking to get in on one of the hottest universes in comics today. If you’re not reading Bloodshot, it’s easily one of the most action-packed comics on the racks today.
The book was honestly pretty great before, but the introduction of H.A.R.D. Corps has infused the title with a ton more personality than it had before as the soldiers of the special force and Bloodshot all go to work for a group, in Project Rising Spirit, that no on really wants to associate with.
This is also a big issue in the sense that Bart Sears has brought his pencils back to the Valiant brand. The legendary artist has a clean-lined and well-detailed style (as you can see from the previews) and it’ll be really interesting to see what he does with the all-action Bloodshot. As for writers Josh Dysart and Christos Gage, well, you already know they know what they’re doing with the character. Unless of course, you haven’t been reading; and if you haven’t… well, look for Get Some to debut with Bloodshot and HARD Corps #18 to land on the stands on December 16th.
