Fact or Myth? The mystery of BioShock Infinite’s Rapture explored

Tales tell of a fabled city under the waves. Could such a story be true? What was in that mysterious chest that washed ashore and what link does it have to a woman living in upstate New York?

There isn’t much that Irrational Games and 2K have done wrong with BioShock as a series and this latest piece of viral marketing is no different. The universe that designer Ken Levine created continues to be one of the very best in gaming and the upcoming Burial at Sea DLC sounds fantastic without even showing us all that much about the game expansion itself.

Then again, what do you really have to know? It’s BioShock’s return to Rapture as an add-on campaign (the first part of two) for BioShock Infinite, starring the main characters from the latter game. Honestly, sounds pretty great just at that. I’m sure there’s lots more info coming though, as we barely know anything about the plot of this two-part expansion and even less of the state that Rapture will be in, even though we do know that Burial at Sea will take place before the fall of the glorious underwater metropolis into chaos.

As soon as we know more, so will you. In the meantime, enjoy the screens below as an ever so brief tease at what’s to come.
