SimCity Has Problems Because “People Don’t Want To Leave The Game”

EA come up with an interesting way of looking at the SimCity launch problems.

EA and Maxis’ problems with SimCity continue to bother them.  They’ve attempted to disable some of the features of the game in order to try and make things run smooth, but in the meantime it seems that some within EA think the reason that people can’t get into it is because people who have gotten in are enjoying it so much that they don’t want to leave.  That’s right!

SimCity Producer Kip Katsarelis made a post on the EA forums saying “What we saw was that players were having such a good time they didn’t want to leave the game, which kept our servers packed and made it difficult for new players to join.”

So there you have it.  You can’t get into the game because the people who have gotten in don’t want to get out again.  Probably because it’ll be a while before they manage to get in again if they log out.

Destructoid: EA: SimCity’s broken because it’s just too much fun!
