The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct gets pre-order goodies, gameplay trailer

Activision and Terminal Reality’s more action oriented take on The Walking Dead shows off some gameplay in the new trailer and announces a pair of early bird, pre-order bonuses.

Helping the backwoods bros blaze a trail through walker infested Georgia will be a duo of packs that’ll be available depending on where you pre-order the game.

GameStop’s offering brings a brand new mode to the game with Herd Mode while Amazon sharpens your melee arsenal with a set of ‘execution’ weapons perfect for separating zombie heads from bodies.

GameStop Herd Mode Challenge – How many frenzied flesh-eaters can you survive against before joining their ranks? Take on endless waves of walkers, each more dangerous than the last, in the all-new Herd Mode. Each wave of undead held off brings with it a new outbreak of hungry biters and new opportunities to rack up an even higher score.

Amazon Walker Execution Pack – Give yourself an edge (or five) with this ‘unique’ weapon kit. The Amazon Walker Execution Pack adds multiple melee options to your arsenal, including a survival knife, sawtoothed machete, kukri, reinforced hatchet, and advanced machete. With ammo scarce and the undead attracted to loud noises, a sharp, silent blade might just be your most trusted companion.

Whichever route you go, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct will be ready to stalk consoles on March 19th for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC and on the 26th for the Wii U.
