Second season of Mortal Kombat Legacy in production

The surprise hit web series that started off the Mortal Kombat rebirth is prepping a second season that will bring the war for Earth-realm to the forefront.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy 2 is currently slotted for debut in the second quarter of next year on Machinima’s YouTube channel. The first season of the show was one of the biggest draws of 2011 on the entertainment channel and pulled in over 60 million viewers. Season 2 might be even bigger since it introduces even more series mainstays.

In the second season the saga continues as Liu Kang and Ermac join the ranks of fighters introduced in the first season of the web series including Kenshi, Kung Lao, Kuai Lang, Stryker, Kitana, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Scorpion and Sub Zero.  This new season will uncover the rivalries and histories of these fierce warriors as Raiden and his recruits clash against the dark forces of Outworld.  The epic battle for Earthrealm has finally begun!

Kevin Tancharoen will return to the director’s chair for Season 2 of Legacy and will co-write along with main scribes Josh Baizer and Marshall Johnson. A special first look at what’s coming will debut at the ‘Streamy Awards’ this coming February.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
