Voyageur Press takes a look at the phenomenon that is Steampunk with a new illustrated guide that’s headed to shops next month.
I have to admit, I’m a little confused by Steampunk. Is it a based on a book, a movie, just somebody’s idea of a good time… what? Well apparently, it’s all of the above according to Voyageur Press’ upcoming new release Steampunk: An Illustrated Guide.
Written by Brian J. Robb, James P Blaylock and a bunch of others who make up a genre “who’s-who”; the book contains over 190 pages and 300 full color images all detailing some of the finer points of the art form. An Illustrated History takes a look at Steampunk as a movement that’s taken hold almost simultaneously across books, comics, fashion, music, games, and even architecture. When you think about it, I guess it has… I can’t tell you how many ‘steampunks’ I saw at NYCC this past weekend.
How ever you feel about the high-tech of the victorian age, Steampunk looks like it might be worth the time of anyone that’s even remotely into the genre. Look for Steampunk: An Illustrated Guide on store shelves on November 17th for $39.99 USD.
