John Romita Jr. returns to Marvel Comics for new mystery event

One of the biggest names in comics is back in the fold at Marvel Comics, and hard at work on something big. What it might be though, is a mystery.

Once and future

If you’re a comics fan, then you know the name John Romita Jr. A monster name when it comes to comic book artists, Romita Jr. has been an industry mainstay for literally decades. That’s not to say he’s been a Marvel-exclusive talent though.

Romita Jr. has moved around a bit, but even though is work for companies like DC is well known, it always seems to be his Marvel stuff that made the biggest impact. And that’s a good thing for all parties involved with this week’s news, as he’s officially back.

Romita Jr. is indeed back at Marvel Comics, and ready to take on… something. Just what that might be though, is a mystery, as neither the artist nor the publisher has made any announcement.

“I have been very fortunate more than a few times in my life, and now I can add this latest event to that list. I have returned to Marvel, the company that I started my career in, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!” said Romita. “I am literally, at this very moment, working on my next big Marvel project, and it’s a blast!!! I am JUST as excited as I was when I first started, and I will do my best to let the work show that again. I hope fans will see that too!”

So, make your guesses. Personally I’m hoping it’s Spider-Man related. Though from the promo image included with the press release, it’d certainly seem to be more in the camp of the Avengers or FF. We’ll see, and of course we’ll let you know as soon as fresh info arrives.
