Xbox Games with Gold delivers Saints Row 2 and more this month

We’re a little late reporting on the subscriber bonuses for Xbox’ Games with Gold this month, and that’s probably because they’re kind of lame.

Doldrums

Yep, it’s not the best month for Xbox Live subscribers looking for their hit of free gaming. While Microsoft does deliver the usual quota of four games to play, I wouldn’t say any of them are all that great. The Xbox One receives WRC 8 and Dunk Lords this month, while retro offerings include a pair of Xbox 360 titles in Saints Row 2 and JuJu.

I’d say the Xbox 360 slate is pretty clearly the superior one this month, with Saints Row 2 being a very solid sequel to the original over-the-top, open-world crime title. While I have personally never heard of it, JuJu also does look like it might be a fun time, if you’re into platformers.

The Xbox One on the other hand, is a little less exciting. Dunk Lords is a basketball/brawler where you can engage in a game that is exactly what it sounds like. Oh, and there’s a character that has a giant strawberry for a head.

The second game, WRC 8, is decidedly niche… and yes I realize I am using that term for it and not Dunk Lords. Honestly though, I think Dunk Lords probably has a little more appeal. Even if you’re a race-fan, rally racing is very much an acquired taste.

As usual these are for current Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Games Pass Ultimate subscribers only. So if you’re a member, you’re free to grab a copy of each title when it becomes available.
