Next-gen only Assassin’s Creed Unity unveiled, welcome to the revolution

Qu’ils mangent de la brioche! And just in case you don’t speak French, that means ‘Let them eat cake’.

It’s been rumored for a while that the French Revolution would be the setting for the next in Ubisoft’s series of historically-inspired action titles, and now here we are with an official announcement. Well, sort of anyway.

Ubisoft wasn’t really ready for an announcement quite yet as the info was leaked a tad early. Give Ubi some credit though, as they followed up that leak with  the terrific teaser trailer you see above and a little fun too, as the company says that (Assassin’s Creed villains) Abstergo forced their hand. What we do know right now, is that the game will be the product of some three years of development (how many teams of AC devs does Ubisoft have?!) when it drops this Holiday season, and it will be next-gen only. Presumably, that means that Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U editions of Assassin’s Creed Unity are out and that it’ll be on the docket for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC only.

There’s lots more to come on this one, so stay tuned and we’ll let you know as soon as we do.
