Wondering what GHTV is exactly? Well basically, it’s a never ending stream of music videos that you can actually play along to in the new Guitar Hero Live.
Yeah, so if you’re a rhythm game junkie, then there’s not too much to dislike about that one. GHTV is like a continuous stream of tunes for you to play, from tons and tons of the biggest acts in the music industry. Also pretty cool is that these songs play out with the actual music videos attached, so you get to watch the video and play at the same time… just maybe try and focus on the actual notes instead of the vid.
And lest you think that this is somehow limited, GHTV runs 24 hours and is a “continually-updated collection of official music videos – across a wide variety of genres – from the newest releases to favorite hits”. You can even flip through channels of music and check out special themed shows as well.
Feel like playing something specific and not taking a chance on ‘what’s on’? You can do that too, as GHTV allows you to select songs on demand. And yes, you can also play local or online multiplayer in GHTV.
Honestly, this is one of the biggest new things about the new Guitar Hero Live, and it sounds freaking awesome. One of the biggest drags about rhythm games in the past has always been being constrained by what’s on the disc, or what’s in that week’s DLC offering; GHTV gets rid of all of that and just gives players exactly what they’re looking for- all the time.
You’ll be able to play both the base game and the GHTV mode, when Guitar Hero Live goes on sale for the PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U this October the 20th.
