Telltale and Zen announce The Walking Dead pinball

Based on the hit adventure games series from Telltale Games, The Walking Dead are coming too Zen Pinball.

“Zen Studios is a huge admirer of Telltale Games, and we truly cherish the opportunity to work with such amazing visionaries,” said Mel Kirk, Vice President of Publishing at Zen Studios. “Working with Telltale’s The Walking Dead is a hallmark moment as we continue our quest to create the most memorable and authentic pinball experiences.”

Honestly, the headline alone is probably enough to sell you on The Walking Dead pinball. If you’re a fan of good games then you already know about both Telltale’s The Walking Dead series (now on it’s second season) and Zen Studio’s excellent series of pinball tables that are based on original ideas and established properties. Obviously, this table would fall into the latter since it’s based upon the massively possible zombie series that’s been made into comics, television, and video games.

“Zen knocked it out of the park with their interpretation Telltale’s first season of The Walking Dead as a pinball table,” said Steve Allison, SVP of Publishing at Telltale Games. “Players once again get to step into the shoes of Lee Everett and protect Clementine as all the major events of season one play a role in the first ever pinball game that features choice and consequence gameplay.”

Set in the first season of the game series, The Walking Dead pinball takes players through Clem’s treehouse and the pharmacy, all the way down to Savannah, Georgia. You’ll also encounter the same ‘choice making’ mechanics that you did in the adventure game and will actually have to pick who you ‘save’ at different times from zombies, which is really cool. Problem solving, hunting for food, and navigating walker attacks are all included as well in a table that has a heck of a lot going on with it.

The table will appear first at E3, which is coming up frighteningly fast, and then be released for both consoles and the PC later this summer.
