Just in time for the big game, Mutant Football League 2 has made its debut for Microsoft’s version of early access, Xbox Game Preview.
Hut, hut, ARGH
From Digital Dreams Entertainment, Mutant Football League 2 is the sequel to the 2017 original. The fantasy/sports mashup brings freak-filled, hard-hitting, 8 on 8 arcade football to life, in the spirit of that EA classic from the Sega Genesis, Mutant League Football.
In the aforementioned ‘early access’ right now, Digital Dreams says that Mutant Football League 2 “is bigger and faster than the original and takes brutal, arcade-style football to new heights.” That includes the ability for players to make their own teams, edit playing fields, and personalize players with armor and more.
Naturally, fans will also be able to engage in a full season of action, culminating in the Mayhem Bowl Championship. In the mode, players can fully manage their teams with trades, signings, and even uh… “SkillRoid” injections. No comment.
“Xbox Game Preview is an ideal spot for Mutant Football League 2 because it enables us to actively engage with our community to help shape the game’s design,” commented Michael Mendheim, Creative Director. “This collaboration fosters a deeper connection with our players and ensures the final game delivers an experience that truly meets their expectations.”
Digital Dreams Entertainment press release
Ready for some brutal Super weekend fun? Mutant Football League 2 is out now in Xbox Game Preview, priced in at $24.99 USD, which is at a $5 discount off the eventual (full retail) price. As for when that final version of the game will be arriving, we’re not sure, but Digital Dreams says to expect it some time this fall.
