The “Gleaming Depths” take Fallout 76 deep under Appalachia

A fresh Raid is opening up for Fallout 76 players, as the Gleaming Depths update takes the adventure below ground.

What’s an Ultracite Terror?

The answer to that question above is probably not one that you want. According to Bethesda, Fallout 76‘s new Gleaming Depths Raid not only adds in a new area to explore, but the biggest boss character yet. That would be The Ultracite Terror, by the way, a massive cobra-like creep that lurks in the game’s shadowy depths.

Speaking of, Ultracite is a power source that was the focus of some “cutting-edge research” by the Enclave. As those things tend to go in the Fallout universe though, things went wrong and that led to said Ultracite Terror.

That’s not all that’ll go bump-in-the-night though, as there are other new enemies to fight, and more.

As part of this update, players will encounter new enemies including a new boss – the biggest yet, of any Fallout game – The Ultracite Terror, a mutated monster lurking in the depths. With relentless enemies and challenging encounters, there’s plenty to do as players fight to survive formidable foes, face deadly challenges, and unravel the mysteries of this terrible subterranean operation.

Great challenges bring great rewards as the Legendary System expands to 4-Stars, with new 4-Star Legendary weapons, armor, and mods earned from the Gleaming Depths raid. But that’s not all – Gleaming Depths also debuts Player Titles and C.A.M.P. Pets, so you can flaunt your raid success with your well-earned nickname and come home to a purrfect new friend.

The Scientific Forge

Along with the above Raid, Fallout 76 players are also now able to add Season 19: The Scientific Forge to their games. It’s there that fans will be able to explore the Enclave, which is “a deep-state faction comprised by AI supercomputer M.O.D.U.S. driven to rebuild America through science, earning technologically trendy in-game rewards.”

Both The Ultracite Terror and Season 19: The Scientific Forge are available right now to add onto your copy of Fallout 76 for both PC and consoles. And if you’d like to learn more about the latter before you dive in, you can check out much more on it right here, via Bethesda’s official Fallout site.
