Followup to the original side-scrolling action title, Volgarr the Viking II has arrived to bring more unrelenting action to fans.

If you like tough as nails action, and classic arcade styling, then you might be pretty happy to know that Volgarr the Viking II has landed. From Digital Eclipse and Crazy Viking Studios, the sequel brings the title hero back to life once again, and sets him against a horde of creatures and worlds based on Norse myth.
But whatever you thought of the original, Volga’s second run will seemingly be quite a bit different. While the difficulty will remain, there’ll also be some options to make things easier for those who desire that, including “a practice mode, optional checkpoints, save profiles, and unlimited continues”.
“The new game contains a decade full of new ideas I have had since the original came out. Some of them are new ways to challenge players; others are designed to make the game more accessible to new players,” said Kristofor Durrschmidt, CEO and Creative Director of Crazy Viking Studios. “A lot of the things that I did in the second game were addressing the primary complaints, wishes, hopes, and dreams of what we collected from fans and reviewers about what could have been done to make Volgarr better.”

Featuring a nod towards speed-running, hordes of enemies to fight, mighty bosses to vanquish, and new gameplay options to make the game more approachable, Volgarr the Viking II is out right now in digital form for the PC (Steam and GOG), Switch, and current Xbox and PlayStation platforms.
For those who prefer a physical game, stay tuned. Digital Eclipse says that Volgarr the Viking II will be getting a boxed edition for the Switch and PS5 at some point.
