Blasphemous fans looking to add a Collector’s Edition of the action title to their shelves should be very happy some time soon.
Collecting Blasphemy
Hitting consoles and the PC last summer, Blasphemous II brought The Game Kitchen’s action/horror Metroidvania back for its first sequel. From the looks of the reactions, it did so in fine form too, although did leave one things out, with no physical Collector’s Edition.
Well, if you’ve been waiting you can finally scratch that ‘want’ off your list, as a CE is indeed coming. Publisher Team17 has come to a deal with SelectaPlay for both North American and European Collector’s Editions of Blasphemous II, and will be dropping them at retail some time soon.
From the looks of it too, this is going to be one crowded box.
As well as the full version of Blasphemous 2 on console, the Collector’s Edition will include a Steelbook case with exclusive artwork, a printed instruction manual created by the developers along with a thank you letter from the Game Kitchen team, a Marca del Martitio metal coin, three art cards with new illustrations, two CD’s of music composed by Carlos Viola along with a collector’s CD cover with code to download the digital soundtrack, a printed game guide with over 60 pages of Blasphemous lore, a beautiful album of illustrations and a certificate of authenticity all housed in a specially created premium finish collector’s box.
Team17 press release
As you can see, there’s no release date just yet for this bad boy. Fortunately though, Team17 says that fans can expect to see this Collector’s Edition landing some time in “early 2024”. So keep an eye out, it should be arriving some time soon for the Switch, PS5, and Xbox.
