Rescue Egypt’s New Kingdom from chaos in the wake of the Pharaoh’s death this fall, in Sega and Creative Assembly’s Total War Pharaoh.
The people cry out for a new leader
As Sega likewise points out, ancient Egypt is one heck of a location for… well it’s a great location for just about any video game honestly, but it should make for a winner of a setting for a Total War title. And that’s exactly where the franchise is heading, with Total War Pharaoh.
The backdrop will be the Bronze-Age collapse, and will feature an Egypt on the “cusp of destruction”. Of course, it’ll be up to players to turn that tide, and bring the legendary civilization back from the brink.
The Pharaoh is dead, and the people of Egypt, Canaan, and the Hittite empire cry out for a new leader. Many desire the power of the throne, but the path to becoming Pharaoh is a perilous one. As the leader of these great nations, you must overcome societal collapse, face natural disasters and fight to protect your people against invaders from far off lands.
With a choice of eight Faction Leaders from three rich cultural hubs, step into their unique playstyles and take charge of deadly and diverse unit rosters. Whether you’re charming the courts as a peerless diplomat, charging into battle as an unwavering commander or causing chaos as a fearless warlord, become a leader that history will remember.
Sega press release
Sega promises a wide range of battlefields for Total War Egypt, not just desert sand. Players will wage war across mountains, the banks of the Nile, and even the Sinai, and they’ll do it in what sounds like it’ll be a shockingly living world.
According to the press release, Total War Egypt will also star “sudden and dramatic shifts in weather”, as well as dynamic changes to the battlefields thanks to raging fires. All that, plus the ability to customize the game’s campaign (to stack the deck against yourself or your enemies) will all be included.
Ready to take the throne for yourself? Total War Egypt will hit the PC this coming October.
