Double Dragon Revive brings the classic series back to life with a whole new look

It’s the iconic beat ’em up series as you’ve never seen it, as this October’s Double Dragon Revive brings the Lee Bros into the modern era.

All-new, mostly different

When you think of Double Dragon, what comes to mind? For us, it’s probably the original game in the long-running series. And if we’re being honest, we probably mean the port that appeared on the NES, and not the arcade classic.

It’s been a while since either of those were released though, and Double Dragon has seen sequels, spinoffs, and a few revivals in the decades since. Some of those hit, and some didn’t, but the brand has lived on as an icon in the gaming multiverse.

Now Arc System Works Co., Ltd. is on the precipice of bringing the famed line of games back to life once more, and it’s looking like it never has before. While it’s still a side-scrolling action title at its core, Double Dragon Revive will feature a brand new look that comes complete with a gameplay overhaul, including environmental hazards, special moves, and of course weaponry.

As you can see there, today brings a lot more than just the first real look at Double Dragon Revive in action. Arc System Works Co., Ltd. has revealed that the game will be en route for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC (via Steam and Epic Games) this year, on October 23rd.

On top of that, Double Dragon Revive has a pre-order incentive in the form of Double Dragon Dodgeball, and will be getting both a digital and physical launch (with the latter being exclusively for consoles).
