Don’t forget, the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct is tomorrow

The big day is almost here, and rumors are flying. Whatever’s revealed, tomorrow’s Switch 2 Nintendo Direct should be interesting.

Finally

Well, we say “finally”, but it seems like this year is flying by more than usual, so the space between January and now kinda doesn’t feel all that long. Nevertheless it was then, if you haven’t been paying attention, that the Switch 2 got its actual reveal. The thing was, although fans finally got to see the console, there was really nothing of note to go along with that unwrapping. All the event contained was a brief sizzle reel with some glimpses of what we assume is the new Mario Kart.

That starts to change tomorrow though, when the previously announced April 2nd Nintendo Direct goes live (at 6am pacific time). The show is scheduled to be an hour in length, which is pretty long for a Direct, and will be entirely focused on the Switch 2. Yes, we mean that literally, as the press release doesn’t actually mention games at all.

Still, we have a hard time believing that we won’t see at least one title included in the show. And yeah, we’re feeling like that’s going to be the new Mario Kart, just from it being glimpsed a few months back. Will there be anything else of note? Maybe not, and there could be a good reason. That being that Nintendo has also revealed, via its X account, that there will be a Nintendo Treehouse: Live beginning on April 3rd.

The full Treehouse will run both the 3rd and 4th of the month, starting at 10am eastern time each day. These are going to be all about the games, with hands-on demos that you’ll be able to watch from the comfort of your own home (or wherever). It’s notable too, that there’s no end time listed. So unlike the Direct, the Treehouses might run longer than an hour.

About Jason Micciche

Jason's been knee deep in videogames since he was but a lad. Cutting his teeth on the pixely glory that was the Atari 2600, he's been hack'n'slashing and shoot'em'uping ever since. Mainly an FPS and action guy, Jason enjoys the occasional well crafted title from every genre.
