Hailing from the TV show of the same name, Obi-Wan Kenobi has a new Hot Toys figure coming up, and a full unboxing right now.
Hopefully there are no laser gates
Did you catch the first season of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ show? The episodic aired last year on the streaming service, bringing some new tales of actor Ewan McGregor’s Jedi Knight to fans. Those stories were set between the prequel and original trilogy eras, and that’s where a bit of the ol’ controversy comes into play.
If you didn’t watch, the show kinda/sorta broke canon… to a pretty big degree, by pitting Kenobi against Darth Vader in a duel. So what’s the big deal with that? Well if you’re a Star Wars fan, then you know that the two were not supposed to have met between the close of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope.
Nevertheless, there it was. Though that’s not to say that the series didn’t have its moments. The duel that we mentioned above was actually pretty cool, with Obi-Wan displaying some pretty awesome force abilities that we hadn’t seen from him before.
And if you dug that specific moment, then you’re going to love what Hot Toys has cooked up for the company’s latest look at the hero. The Special Edition got a full unboxing from Sideshow recently, since it’s about to start shipping, and the video is making it look like a piece that fans won’t want to miss.
Here’s an in-depth look:
This highly poseable figure has over 30 points of articulation, allowing for a wide range of dynamic display options. Obi-Wan wears a finely tailored Jedi outfit, which includes a dark brown robe, a brown tunic, a light brown undertunic, brown pants, and a belt with a blaster holster. He is armed with a USB-poweredLED light-up blue lightsaber, a blue lightsaber blade-in-motion effect, a lightsaber hilt, and a blaster.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi™ (Special Edition) 1/6 Scale Figure comes with a range of accessories including an LO-LA59 droid, binoculars, a holoprojector, and a Bail Organa hologram miniature. A rocky diorama base allows fans to recreate his epic showdown with Darth Vader.
This Special Edition also comes with exclusive bonus accessories – a box with a cloth and Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber hilt.

Sideshow press release
As noted, there are two versions of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi coming up, with both standard (Collector’s Edition) and Special Editions en route. Both are priced the same, clocking in at $300 USD, and fans can expect the pair to start shipping some time between now and November of 2024.
Just one caveat though, as the two listings are currently sold out on Sideshow’s online shop. The company does have wait lists open however, so if you’re feeling lucky, hit those Sideshow links above and add your name.
