Ready to take players to the post-apocalyptic world of zombified LA, Deep Silver’s Dead Island 2 has taken a bite out of Game Pass.
Fun in the sun
Launched on consoles and the PC last year, publishers PLAION and Deep Silver’s long-awaited zombie-killing sequel Dead Island 2 has now come to Microsoft’s Game Pass. That means Xbox and PC subscribers can dig into this well-received title as a part of their subscription.
The game was developed by Dambuster Studios, and obviously completely changes up the location from the original title. Entering a ruined LA, now called “Hell-A”, players find themselves in the midst of a full-on zombie outbreak. It’s one that’s complete with new zombies and mutations to battle, new weapons to do that fighting with, and Dambuster’s F.L.E.S.H. system.
That stands for Fully Locational Evisceration System for Humanoids by the way, and delivers one of the goriest bloodbaths yet in a zombie title.
The city’s in quarantine – thanks to a deadly virus – and it’s down to the somehow immune slayers to embark on an epic pulp journey across a plethora of well-known locations such as Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, and Santa Monica to uncover the truth behind the outbreak and who or what they are turned into, meeting a wild cast of characters in the process.
PLAION press release
As mentioned, the title is out right now via the Game Pass subscription service, and is playable solo or with up to three players in co-op.
