Set in the ending frames of World War I, Last Train Home follows some Czech soldiers as they try to get home, as new war erupts.
Keep that train a-rolling
Out now for the PC from Ashborne Games and THQ Nordic, Last Train Home is a fairly different kind of RTS. Yes, it’s a strategy game, but it’s one whose theater of war is constantly on the move. There’s a good reason for that too, as the end of WWI has resulted in a civil war between Russia’s Red and White armies, and the game’s featured Czechoslovakian soldiers are caught in the middle. The hook is that they’re just trying to get home, running a train right through this fresh conflict.
Last Train Home is out now for the PC, and has just gotten an update, with the press release saying the developers are “committed to enhancing the gaming experience and are grateful for the passionate engagement from our players”.
And along with that new patch, Last Train Home also has a brand new trailer, one that digs into the “heart of a civil war, capturing not only the ferocity of conflict but the raw, unfiltered emotions that accompany it”. As with past trailers for the game, it’s a mix of live-action and in-game footage. If you’re still on the fence about it, maybe it’ll say your opinion.
The Great War is over – but the fight continues. Command a legion of soldiers desperately trying to make their way home amidst the chaos of civil war. Lead them through the unforgiving wilderness onboard an armored train. Manage your crew and resources and try to survive.
