Capcom drops fresh looks for 18 characters (and more) into Street Fighter 6 today

A surprise content drop for Street Fighter 6, loaded with new costumes, has arrived today, and there’s plenty more on the horizon.

Doing a little shopping

There’s quite a bit of new content coming to Street Fighter 6 this month, and it all starts today. The additions have begun with the drop of “Outfit 3” for 18 characters, and an interesting new cosmetic element for online versus play.

As far as the Outfit 3 options go, fans can look for the likes of ” Dee Jay’s dancehall inspired get up, Juri’s comfy cozy onesie, Marisa’s lovely wedding dress”, according to Capcom. None of this will be accessible right off the bat, as players will have to ‘buy’ each costume, with each priced at 300 Fighter Coins each.

And that online “element” we mentioned? That allows for players to actually pick the color and costume for their online opponents. Yes, you get to choose what your opposing fighter looks like in matches, even though your actual human opposition might have a different idea. Don’t worry, no matter what you pick for them, they’ll never know. Capcom says that online costume choices aren’t reflected on the screen of whoever you’re matched up with. Weird? Maybe. But it’s also kinda neat, allowing you to stage fights to your taste.

But wait, there’s (a lot) more

As we mentioned above, the costumes and related online option are the start of what’s coming up for Street Fighter 6. Along with the eventual additions of fighters Ed and the legendary villain Akuma, Capcom has a load of stuff coming up, some of which should be dropping very soon.

Here’s a taste of what’s to come:

  • “Happy Holidays” Fighting Pass with festive new avatar gear, emote, player titles, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo unlockable in the Game Center, and more; check out the full details at Buckler’s Boot Camp
  • New “Cartoonish” Challenge Customization available for purchase with Fighter Coins or Drive Tickets via in-game shop
  • Four songs from the recently released original hip hop soundtrack “Street Fighter 6 x NERDS Clothing presents Steel Sessions” can be obtained for free to play in the in-game Music Player, including:
    • “Perfect” – Black Soprano Family: Benny the Butcher, Heem, & Rick Hyde
    • “Blood On Me” – D-Block
    • “Already Up” – Royce da 5’9″ & Courtney Bell
    • “Power” – Grafh
  • Additional collab content with the ever-popular Baki anime, including title, stamp and photo frame – all for free in-game!
  • League-Separated Tournaments have now been broken down into finer groups – Rookie, Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master and Legend – so players can more closely match up with opponents
  • A new “Intermediate” server will be introduced specifically for beginner and intermediate level players
  • To celebrate the excitement of the Kuzuha Cup tournament (KZHCUP) sponsored by Japanese V-tuber Kuzuha, players can log in and receive special commemorative player titles, stamps, photo frames and backgrounds for free!
  • Note: The Organizer player title can only be obtained by event organizers.
