Quake Champions gets an unholy paladin in new character vignette

Galena can heal her allies, but also use her dark powers to wage war on her unlucky foes in Quake Champions.

Unholy Paladin

So far, Quake Champions has shown us a pretty wild array of playable characters, but not like Galena here. She’s decidedly more old school than who we’ve seen till now, with the moniker of paladin attached. Of course, she’s no ordinary paladin. Nope, she’s an unholy paladin.

Galena giveth and she taketh away. Healer, Warrior — Quake Champion’s Unholy Paladin rocks the Arenas with her powerful totem, dishing out devastating damage to foes and revitalizing allies with healing powers that can swing the balance of a fight.

Galena was only 4 years old when given as an offering to the Celebrants of Volkerh. Like all children, she watched and imitated. She learned that blood is judgment and penance is sacrament. Now she has grown powerful and grateful.

She’s not the fastest Champion in the Arenas, but she’s resilient, and with her Unholy Totem and Channeling abilities, she’s even harder to frag.

So she’s a healer… kinda. From that trailer, she also looks pretty devastating, which is an interesting mix. You can find Galena’s complete stat sheet below, and you’ll be able to play Quake Champions sometime soon on the PC.

CHAMPION PROFILE: Galena – Unholy Paladin

  • Starting Armor: 25
  • Speed: 280

Active Ability – Unholy Totem: In the heat of combat, throw down Galena’s Unholy Totem to heal yourself and your allies, or cause devastating damage to your foes. Deadly in Deathmatch and a critical tool in team games to help control pathways and power-ups, the Unholy Totem is a vital weapon in Galena’s wicked arsenal.

Passive Ability – Channeling: Want to get that totem back even faster? Galena’s Passive Ability – Channeling – allows her to eliminate 5% of her Active Ability cooldown every time she picks up a health bubble. Strike down the unbelievers.
