If you’re a Warhammer 40k Space Hulk fan, you’re probably going to like what Deathwing looks like in action.
Purge the xenos!
So that was pretty freaking awesome. Space Hulk: Deathwing look like a pretty great updating of the classic Space Hulk formula. And on top of that, it seems like it’ll able to stand on its own too, as an FPS. As a fan of both, I’m stoked.
Now, there’s definitely multiplayer co-op in this one, so don’t worry about that. But Focus Home and developer Streum On also have put great effort into the single player aspect of the game. You can expect to play through an adventure written “in collaboration with Black Library author and Dark Angels specialist, Gav Thorpe”. Pretty neat.
Oh, and if you’re unaware, you’ll be playing as a Dark Angels Librarian in this one too. No, that doesn’t mean you’ll be looking for lost volumes of an encyclopedia. Librarians are potent ‘psykers’ in the Warhammer universe, meaning they have super-powers. And big guns. And enchanted swords. Yep, they’re pretty awesome.
Space Hulk: Deathwing lands on the PC on December 9th, with a few cool bonuses if you pre-order on Steam. You’ll not only get 15% off the ticket price, but also access to the beta (starts at the end of this month), and the Lost Mace of Corwin weapon. Snazzy.
